Now that I am home with my boys I can really appreciate just how imaginative kids are at this age. Take for example the fort built in my living room this morning using my newly laundered sheets, pilfered directly from the linen closet. Or how about the "cocoon" that Nicky encased his younger brother in? The cocoon consisted of approximately 1 Brawny "BIG" roll of paper towels. I'm telling you friends, Brawny is where it's at if you want to cocoon your sibling...(waves at Brawny Man, whispers- "Send me paper towels!")
I would have gotten a picture of said cocooned toddler but several factors impeded this..a) I was laughing hysterically, b) my camera isn't charged, c) Seba was peeeevvveeed. I say peeved because he was sort of laughing as he struggled weakly to break his bonds and d) I was still laughing hysterically.
So yeah, imaginations are definitely at work here in this household. Everyday we have been watching less TV and reading more and more and now that the kids understand the stories more its really gotten to be fun for all involved. Often we'll start a story and then I will ask Seba or Nicky to tell me how they thing it should end and we go off on improvisational tangent that often turns out to be waaaay more interesting than the original storybook endings. We've had Nemo stay at the dentists office and learn to become a fish dentist; we've had the Cat in the Hat on time out for not being a good listener; Mowgli has become king of the jungle and on and on. So imagine my delight when I was contacted by Eric, a rep for a great website called Big Universe.
