I hate to watch the news because it's always chock-freaking-FULL of horrific stories and images. Sometimes though, I will see or read a story that flat out makes me wonder if there isn't a teeny bit of magic left in this big world of ours.
Todays inspiration came in the form of an article in the NY Times about Stephen Wiltshire, an autistic man who, with only a passing glance - can absorb and then recreate landscapes with a paper and pencil. This story is inspiring to me personally because one of my nephews has been diagnosed with a form of autism and I worry about how this gentle little boy will be able to cope in this dog eat dog world as he grows up.
Here is the link to the article in the NY Times and here is the link for Stephen Wiltshire's personal website, where a web cam has been set up so you can see him draw the NYC landscape (all 305 square miles of it) that he memorized in a 20 minute helicopter flyover, live.
I like to be inspired early in the morning, don't you? Has anything inspired YOU lately? Leave a comment and share it with the rest of us.
